Finishing up on the unit of 'My Neighbourhood'...

Hello boys, hope you enjoyed yourselves on the learning journey to Bedok Interchange last Thursday! What a fun way to round up our English unit on My Neighbourhood!

Boys dilligently completing their worksheets at the interchange. I think I caught Elisha at a moment when a great idea came to him! =)

Special thanks to Ang Chern and Brandon's mummies for helping out!

Do you see your mindmap here again?

I dreamed a dream...

Here is an endearing and inspirational audition video from a television show Britain's Got Talent which once again tells of how easy it is for people to judge others based on how they look or their status in society.

I am sure this charming old lady Susan Boyle gave hope to everyone out there who has ever felt like a misfit. Watch the transformation of the judges and audience's expressions - from mockery to wonder, respect and appreciation. It is truly amazing.

"I may be disabled but I lead a very fulfilling life."

Here is a real story of an inspirational love between a father and a son that touched me deeply. Do you know the extent of your parents' love for you? They strive to be the very best parents they can be. How about you? Do you also strive to be the very best child you can be? Do you also believe that disabled people can achieve just as much, if not more than an ordinary person? Do share this beautiful story with your friends and families:

The Hyot's motto is "You can."

Do YOU believe anything is possible as well?

Is it the end of Week 3 of Term 2 already?

Oh my, how time flies! Our library week has ended as well, and I would like to congratulate Rinaldi for handing in the best activity worksheet. Hmm..Why is it that no one took up my challenge of writing about your favourite folktale or fable? Many thanks to Ian for lending us his storybooks so that we can enjoy them together. I will continue to read them to you when we have finished all our work! As you have come to realize, all fables come with morals that are meaningful and useful to always keep in mind. (We all now know how to pronounce 'Aesop' too! ;) Here are photographs of those who came to school dressed as fable/folktale characters:

Characters from 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf": (Do you still remember the moral of this fable?)
